Temp Domain Name
-
Hello, I have changed the temp domain name on both the settings of my WordPress admin and the php admin of my bluehost account and it still shows the temp domain name for the homepage of my site, how can I fix this?
-
Hey there, do you mean it’s showing the wrong name in Jetpack / on WordPress.com? If so, disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack from its dashboard in wp-admin should fix that. Let us know if you need more help with that.

My domain name is shown in safari/chrome, but when I text or email the link it shows the temp domain name. Disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack didn’t fix this, is there anything else I can try?
-
What is the temp domain that shows up? And what shows up under wp-admin > settings > general ?
-
It’s the domain I chose on WordPress settings. It shows up as box5476.temp.domains when I try to text it.
-
Would you confirm where it’s showing up that way? I’m not sure what you mean, re: trying to text it.
I see one site associated with this account, and it does not show a temp domain from https://wordpress.com/stats/ , for example.

When I try to share the url to my homepage through social media, texting, or email my url changes to the temp domain and people can’t access my site, it shows the page as not secure.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.
