  To clarify, you are trying to set up your site to appear similar to the demo you see here? https://sidespieddemo.wordpress.com

  By default when you switch themes it may not auto-populate with demo content but in this case I was able to add the demo content on our end. You should see the site appears a bit different when you check here: https://casketdropper.wordpress.com/

  Please note that the demo content contains only a few blog posts. You can fill out the homepage grid on the site by publishing more of your own blog posts here https://wordpress.com/posts/casketdropper.wordpress.com

  When you publish your blog posts don’t forget to set a “Featured Image” for the post, as this image will become the thumbnail image on the homepage. More info here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
