Temporarily Disable Blog

    Can I temporarily disable my blog rather than deleting it permanently?

    Hi there, if by disable you mean you want to walk away from your free WPcom website for a while, you can do that. Free WPcom sites do not expire regardless of the last time you posted. Please keep your log in information in a place you’ll remember.

    If you have upgrades on your WPcom site, it becomes a little more involved, so let us know if you need help with that.

    If you mean you want to keep it out of public view, you can change your site’s Privacy settings from Public to Private at https://wordpress.com/settings/general/ in your site’s dashboard. Scroll down a little until you see Privacy and tick the Private box and then click on the Save settings button. It will remain Private until you change that setting. All your current site followers will not be able to see your site unless you specifically invite them to view it.
