Text not showing on 'placeholder' post

This is a new blog I’m setting up and the template is great, but seems to be pre formatted with features I don’t want to use. One of these is causing me grief.
It is for sections calling themselves ‘placeholder posts’ and no matter how many times I edit them and update, although the title of the post shows correctly, the text remains the same template text on the homepage, but appears correctly when the blog piece is clicked on.
I cannot work out what their placeholder thing is trying to do and why once edited it has no impact on the homepage. very frustrating!
Not been able find an answer anywhere.

Hi,
I don’t find any default posts, if that’s what you mean by ‘placeholder posts,’ on the front page of the site https://woodreincarnations.wordpress.com/. Each of the six posts displaying there seem to be original posts. Have you refreshed or reloaded the front page?

In the end I simply deleted the posts that were causing me problems and created new posts. These are fine.
I am still none the wiser regarding ‘placeholder posts’; what they do, how to use them and how turn them off from whatever the placeholder functions does (which seems to be just be a pain in the derriere!)

You’re welcome. Perhaps the main purpose of the ‘placeholder posts’ would be to demonstrate what the posts page looks like on a new site without any other published posts. The Dyad theme features an unusual posts page page design. For someone new to WordPress.com, and perhaps for some more experienced bloggers, deleting the posts and creating new ones might be easier than editing the titles, slugs, and content of the default posts and replacing their featured images.
