The code tag does not work for java or javascript

    The code tag seems seriously munted. Take a look at this page: http://fhirblog.com/2014/08/02/smart-on-fhir-part-1/

    In the second and subsequent blocks, all the contents of the block are escaped – eg ” becomes " and & becomes &

    This is SERIOUSLY irritating as I use code a lot. It continues to occur even if I just stay in text editing mode, and even if I think I have it right (I just found this example by accident).

    If not corrected, or if I can’t find a way to reliably display code then I will need to find another hosting provider, which would be a pity.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for this report. Can you tell me which editor you were using? The classic one or the new one? And it looks like you’re using the latest version of Chrome, can you confirm that?

    The issue occurs with both classic and teh new one.

    Yes – I am using chrome.

    Assuming that I am using the tag correctly, it is really easy to reproduce… If you like, take the post I indicated and use that as your test.

    Thanks for the follow up. I have seen this happen, but have not been able to reliably reproduce it. Can you give me the original code before the character encoding happened?

    Also, do you move between the Visual and Text editors while you work? Did you copy and paste any portions of the code, or did you type it straight into the editor?

    You mention it’s easy to reproduce, so I must be doing something different than you are. Could you give me some more information about the steps you take when you’re adding this code to your posts? If you’re up for it, a screencast would be awesome.

    That would be great! I’ve actually been trying to reliably recreate this issue for over a week now, but I can’t figure out what triggers it. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. So I’ll keep trying as well.
