The name I want to use says its reserved

  I want to set up jobmanager.wordpress.com

  I took over the plugin development for this plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/job-manager/) and now I need to move the archival data from the original developers site to maintain it…

  When I attempt to set this up..I get the comment “sorry, that site is reserved!”

  It is not being used and this plugin has been active for over 5 years. Is there anyway to see who reserved it ? Perhaps it was Gary the old dev and it can be released now ?

  When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.

  If and only if you have that username account then the blog is reserved for you and you will be able to log in appropriately and register it after logging in under the correct username account.

  However, if you changed your username then the blog URL will not be available for use under the new username account.

  Staff will not assist you to find the original owner of that URL. You can see the account was registered two years ago and hasn’t done anything with the reserved URL or asked any questions in the forum: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/jobmanager

  This site has a spelling issue http://joemanager.wordpress.com/?ref=spelling

  You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
