The option to limit my posts seen on main page is not working

  I would like to only show my 5 most recent posts on my front page. I go to Settings then Reading and chose the option to only show 5 posts. This however does not work on my wordpress website at all. Anyone know why? And in the ‘new’ dashboard there is no option to do this only in the old one which may be why it isn’t working? Can I not limit my front page to a specific number of posts now?

  It looks like you’ve already figured this out, as I count just five posts on your front page. The problem might have been that you had a certain number of sticky posts. Add the number of posts to display (at Settings > Reading) to the number of sticky posts and you will get the number displayed on your front page. Page 2, however, and subsequent pages should eacg display exactly the number of posts assigned at Reading Settings. Here’s your page 2: https://thescienceofcrafting.wordpress.com/page/2/.
