The Ownership of Domain

  Hi we are looking to create a new website with a custom domain. We are going to pay for the package with USD$3 per month. I am writing to ask about the ownership of the domain. Do we own the domain or will it belong to wordpress? Thank you very much!

  There are no monthly payment plans at WordPress.com. So if you upgrade to the Personal plan you pay $35.88 in advance annually. That gives you a custom domain that you can use for as long as you keep renewing the plan.
  If you didn’t renew the plan you would lose the custom domain name and after a number of months in limbo it would eventually be released and you would have the chance to purchase it again via a different registrar (but also it’s just as likely that someone else could buy it too).

  Hi, thanks for answering the question so precisely! Alright, we look forward to secure a domain with the annual payment. Then we might upgrade it to Premium from Personal. Look how it goes :)
