The site is spreading misinformation using wp software

    I tried using the primary report site form and it wouldn’t go through.

    The header tab for the site was the WP icon, and the bottom of the page is using wp meta information to collect likes, and to allow sharing. Then there’s this bit at the bottom of the page ‘Developed by Think Up Themes Ltd. Powered by WordPress.’ which is basically announcing that even though someone is paying for a private domain name this is indeed a wp hosted website.

    The site in question is using the free and open-source WordPress.org software. We are WordPress.com, a completely different entity that has no control over sites using the WordPress.org software.

    There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.

    Because the WordPress.org software is free, anyone can use it on their site. However, they need a hosting service provider to host the software for them. You can reach out to the hosting service provider if you have any complaints about the site or its content.

    You can use a website like https://whoishostingthis.com to locate the hosting company of a site and then reach out to them.
