The URL is adding an extra "com" at the end

    Dear All, I have a question regarding the blog of my girlfriend.
    I already read other entries about “URL” but didnt find any answer.
    The question is pretty simple (we are amateurs):
    She just created her blog and let’s suppose the name is ilovecats, so the url should be ilovecats.wordpress.com BUT INSTEAD the URL is showing: ilovecatscom.wordpress.com.
    We know it sounds like a small detail but it’s really annoying indeed.

    Hi,

    ilovecats.wordpress.com is an existing WordPress.com site registered in 2007, so that URL would not be available, I’m afraid. So the system likely suggested ilovecatscom.wordpress.com as an alternative and your girlfriend didn’t notice when setting up her site.

    So, she’ll have to either just go with ilovecatscom.wordpress.com, change it to something else, or set up a custom domain.
