I want to set up a local set up of wordpress with xampp. It is impossible to follow any of the directions. They all start in the middle of the sequence needed for an installation. Just because you all know all there is to know does not mean everyone out here in the forgotten world know what you all know. I am sick and tired of trying to make workpress work. It does not. That there are hundreds or thousands or millions of users out there is a lie. 99.999% of those are frustrated wanna be users. I don’t have time to try to understand the non-speak drivel expounded by the ‘experts.’

You’re not in the correct forum to moan about the WordPress.org software. Most people are here at WordPress.com because they don’t want to bother with all the nonsense of SQL and PHP. If you aren’t able to install XAMPP and WordPress on your own equipment (I managed it once years ago and it took me hours) then, like me, perhaps WordPress.com is the place for you.
