The whole bogging interface has changed! SUPER confusing!

I have had my worpdress blog for over ten years but have spent some time away from it. I am now trying to get back to blogging, but everything has changed! Nothing looks or seems to work the same as it did before. It took me a LONG time just to find my way to my dashboard! When writing a post, I can’t find the controls I want to use!
For example, I can’t put in a simple image into a post through ‘add media’ (no way to ‘insert’ into post)! All I can do ‘add inline image’ through the simplistic ‘block’ menu.
Very frustrating! Are these new controls supposed to make blogging easier–because they definitely do NOT–or are they meant to frustrate users into buying premium packages?! -
