The wrong public display name is appearing in my account! Also, keep receiving messages at my correct email address with wrong user name.

My user name should match my email address, ‘theafabadvocate.’ However, it is showing up as ‘meerkatparsleyganymede70468’ on both WordPress and in emails I have received from WordPress at my email address ‘ (email visible only to moderators and staff) .’ What is going on???! Why did this happen, and how can it be corrected?

You created the wordpress.com account meerkatparsleyganymede70468 only 7 days ago. There is no such wordpress.com account theafabadvocate.

I did not create the meerkatparsleyganymeded70468 account. I have no idea what that even means, but that is showing up as my username when I log in using my actual email address. I have also received emails from WordPress at my email address referring to the “meerkat” user name. Something is screwed up. Isn’t there any customer service available for WordPress???

meerkatparsleyganymeded70468username was automatically generated when you created your account. We automatically generate a username if you create an account via the single sign-on option, like the Sign in with Google option. This account owns one site, https://theafabadvocate.wordpress.com/The username,
theafabadvocate, does not exist on WordPress.com, as @staartmees pointed out above, but as you own the matching WordPress.com URL you should be able to change your current username to that if you prefer. You can do this from the account settings page.
