Hi. let me explain situation. I’ve got my own theme in .zip format. I’ve also got my domain. I’m trying to use your system to run my internet shop. First I bought preimium membership. Then I tried to upload my theme and had to buy Pressable.com membership. But i had to wordpress accounts and probably linked my free wordpress account to Pressable. Then I contacted your customer support to merge accounts and after I explained situation got a reply that i dont need both Pressable and WordPress premium account. So I’ve canceled my WordPress premium account and now i cant edit my theme and dont know what to do with domain. Could you please explain to me, what do i do, to use my theme (.zip file), my domain and run my shop?

The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes

    We cannot:
    upload any third party themes,
    create child themes,
    create our own themes,
    edit templates,
    create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.

There is no FTP access to any wordpress.com sites. See:
    Themes »Uploading Custom Themes
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

P.S. Also be keenly aware that you cannot transfer any theme from https://wordpress.com/themes/ which is licensed and adapted to run on WordPress.COM software to a WordPress.ORG site, and visa versa. The two run on different software and have different versions of themes with the same names. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

  • Hi there,

If you have your own downloaded theme, and you want to use your site as an online store, then you need the self-hosted version of WordPress, called WordPress.org. That is what you’re using if you have a site with Pressable.

You will need to log in at Pressable and create a new site in your account there if you don’t have one already:

    https://my.pressable.com/

Once the site is created, click on Settings to see how to connect your domain, and click on WP-Admin to go to that site’s dashboard where you can install your theme under Appearance ->Themes.

If you need more help with that, and with installing ecommerce plugins, etc., please contact Pressable support directly.
