Theme charges

  Last week a theme was free and this week it’s premium. Why? Do these change weekly?

  No. I’ve been here ate WordPress.com for over 6 years and I have never ever – not even once – seen a free theme become a premium theme. Exactly which theme are you referring to? Are you referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog like the one linked to above that has had no posts since 2008? Or are you referring to another blog?

  I was about to start a blog using the Linen theme and was also interested in Gridspace last week, and they were NOT premium last week. But now they are! (And no, this doesn’t apply to any current blog.)

  We have never turned free themes into premium themes.

  Linen has been a premium theme since it launched in April of 2011: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/new-theme-linen/
