Theme Issue

  Hey there, I wanted to setup my first blog but when I tried changing themes it kept some elements of the previous one and didn’t include elements of the new one. Not quite sure what to do as I’ve tried switching to a different theme and then back to the one I wanted but it still looks all messed up.

  So most newer themes are made both of templates and patterns. It sounds like you may be you’re switching the theme and keeping some of the patterns from the last one. That would look like what you’re describing here.

  But if you want to have a fresher start, try going to https://wordpress.com/page and pick a pattern you like. Modify the content as you’d like, then you can publish that and make it your front page.

  For non-front pages, I’d recommend just editing the page, inserting what patterns you need, removing the ones you don’t, and modifying the text and images as you’d like:
