Theme Overhaul

  So when I started the blog, we did this on WordPress.com and it worked for us. Recently we have been discussing getting a new theme and honestly we found one that was not on the listing of the current themes from the WP store. I’m not very computer literate when it comes to stuff like this, but how would I apply a theme from a third party to my blog? I’ve already upgraded to the customization level. What else do I need to do?

  It doesn’t matter what upgrade you have, you won’t be able to upload 3rd party themes to your WordPress.com website. You can use any of the 300+ themes available in Dashboard>Appearance>Themes. And you can then use your annual Custom Design upgrade to customize that theme even further via CSS or the Custom Design tools.

  If you bought the 3rd party theme thinking you would be able to use it on WPcom, you should contact the theme author you purchased it from to get a refund.

  Well that’s a bummer, luckily we hadn’t purchased it yet. We wanted to get the full scoop before buying. Thank you very much for the info. Definitely a lot for us to think about.
