    Hi,

By default WordPress.com sites displays the posts page on the front page. If yours is set to display a static page instead, then you can change the setting at Customize > Static Front Page > Front page displays > (choose “Your latest posts). That’s it.

    Correction:

By default WordPress.com sites displays the posts page on the front page.

That used to be true. Now, it depends upon how you answered the question “What would you like your homepage to look like?” at step 2 of 5 during the site registration process. If you think that WordPress.com is confusing, it is not your imagination.

do you know if there is a way to go back and reset that part?

You can’t reset the original answers given during the site registration process, if that’s what you mean. But it doesn’t matter, because you may change the relevant setting at any time. I gave the instructions in my first post here:

By default WordPress.com sites displays the posts page on the front page. If yours is set to display a static page instead, then you can change the setting at Customize > Static Front Page > Front page displays > (choose “Your latest posts).

When you choose “Your latest posts,” the pages set under the “static page” option are hidden, and no longer relevant. Then click on the “Save & Publish” button to save your change.

    Sorry, just ignore this part:
“By default WordPress.com sites displays the posts page on the front page.”
    I should have said:
If your front page is set to display a static page, then you may have it display your latest posts instead by changing the setting at Customize > Static Front Page > Front page displays Choose “Your latest posts” instead of “A static page.” Then click on the Save & Publish button.
