Themeforest theme to WordPress compatibility
-
I have a domain with an outside company (1&1internet) but I have found a theme recently with another company (ThemeForest) that would help me complete my website more efficiently with the use of a theme that should be compatible with WordPress. I just wanted to ensure that WordPress will be compatible with the theme. The following were listed to be compatible with the theme. I’m not so certain if these work for WordPress of not. WP e-Commerce 3.8.x, WP e-Commerce 3.9.x, WP e-Commerce 3.10.x, Visual Composer 4.12.x, Visual Composer 4.11.2.1, Bootstrap 3.x
Also stating that the software version is WordPress 4.7.x
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi sprment,
Also stating that the software version is WordPress 4.7.x
What is the URL of the site you want to use the theme for? It sounds like you have a self hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site. The differences between the two are explain in more detail in this guide:
I just wanted to ensure that WordPress will be compatible with the theme.
The Business plan now enables you to upload custom themes to your WordPress.com site. However, we can’t guarantee they will be ready for WordPress.com yet as this is something the theme author needs to implement.
Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks gemmacevans, you’ve been very helpful, I have the domain with an outside company and is sprment.com

Hi sprment,
I have the domain with an outside company and is sprment.com
Thanks — sprment.com isn’t a WordPress.com site so I’d recommend speaking to the theme authors about any compatibility issues with your version of WordPress. They should be able to give you more information.
The WordPress.org support forums are also a great place to get advice for self hosted sites:

Best of luck with your theme!

I see, well I’ve linked the both my domain registrar and host domain (WordPress) and my website comes up under a default WordPress template as of current, so it’s working well so far, I’ve also purchased my intended template but upon tying to upload it, it came up with an error suggesting there may be a different zip file I’m supposed to upload as opposed to the one I see straight away upon downloading it

Hi sprment,
I see you have upgraded to the Business plan now — which includes email and live chat support. I’ve sent an email to the address on your account and will follow up with you there. Please let me know if you don’t receive it.
Thanks!
