  Are themes interchangeable like square space?

  Hi,

  I don’t know how squarespace works, but you may switch from one theme to another on WordPress.com. See the Switch Themes section of the Themes support page for a list of features which may be adversely affected during a theme switch, including widgets, the location of custom menus, and custom CSS.

  If widgets don’t switch over, they will be placed in the “Inactive Widget area at Appearance > Widgets and you can then simply drag them back into the sidebar. On Custom Menus, it is generally just a matter of going to Appearance > Menus and checking the Primary Location in the custom menu and then saving.

  CSS is theme specific, so it will not be applied to a new theme. If you change themes, and want to include changes to the CSS, you will have to create new CSS rules for the new theme.
