  I tried activating several free themes for my primary site like Isola, Shoreditch, and Argent but each time I get a notification saying ‘Unable to activate theme. Contact support.’

  I believe that could be an indication that the issue is at your end of things and is most likely browser related.

  Are you using a desktop computer and running an up to date browser version?

  Are you using an app?

  Do you have a dodgy internet connection?

  Disable any adblocker browser add-ons.
  Try using another browser.

  If you are not successful please provide this specific info:
  (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
  (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

  Hi there,

  I agree with @TImethief in that it sounds browser related. Can you try to activate one of those themes in a different browser and let me know if you receive the same message? Or, I can try activating one of the themes on my end. Let me know, thanks!
