Themes

Hello! I went to set up my new site today and when creating an account, I couldn’t find the theme I really liked (Dara), so I picked a different one (Russel) as a placeholder. Once my account was set up, I went into Appearances > Themes to find Dara. I was able to find it and activate it, but now it looks like a mash-up between the 2 themes. I think it took the text/photos from the first theme and imported it into the new theme like it was my existing homepage. It doesn’t give me the option to replace my homepage with the themes homepage when I select it. Is there a way to completely get rid of the Russel theme and start over with Dara? I really liked the Dara layout, which I no longer have with the Russel home page. Thank you.

  • Hey there,

I was able to find it and activate it, but now it looks like a mash-up between the 2 themes

No worries. Head to https://wordpress.com/pages and remove the current front page.

Then follow these steps for setup:
    https://wordpress.com/theme/dara/

  • Oops! I accidentally sent that too early. But I was going to say, once you’ve completed that setup, you may also need to make a few adjustments to other pages from the https://wordpress.com/pages list.

And then just add a few posts and you should be good to go. Cheers!
