Third Party Hosting Feud

    Hello WordPress support,

I’m a new associate at a small company. Years back the owner engaged in the website design services of a company (Creactive) to make the website (www.allin1doors.com), as he had minimal knowledge/skills with computers. As I came to the company, I saw the website had its own domain and was ‘powered by small business’. Being familiar with WP, I assumed the account was a Business subscription ($25/mo) versus a personal subscr.

Recently I asked this third party for the password to our site and they gladly offered it. Little did I know, they perceived that I no longer wanted their service and so the pulled down our site. I do not want to be at their mercy to request they return the site, rather now I would prefer to run it independently.

My question concerns my company’s rights to our site as we paid for the design of the site and that we should have ownership to rescind our domain and pay our own fees to you with no middleman. I do not know how to switch servers, but I would be willing to try.
    Thanks!!!

You’re asking in the WordPress.com support forum but that site isn’t hosted here.

    Domain Name: ALLIN1DOORS.COM
    Registrar: GoDaddy.com, LLC
    Name Server: NS51.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
    Name Server: NS52.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

Whois info isn’t always straightforward. Either the domain is valid for another year or it expired 3 days ago. Who actually paid for the domain? You’ll need to reach out to the original developers of the site and/or GoDaddy.
