Third Party Theme Uploading

    Hi, I work for a small non for profit and we were hoping to use your services for our website. We have picked a theme from a third party website that we were hoping to use for our wordpress website. The creater of this theme said he was unsure if the theme would work for WordPress.com as it is meant for WordPress.org. Should there be a problem with integration? We do not have a business account to try it out yet as the board members of our organization would want to see a preview of it before they let us go ahead with the changes.

    It is always more straight-forward to choose from the 100s of themes already optimized for WordPress.com as found in the themes showcase here: https://wordpress.com/themes
    But if you have set your heart on a WordPress.org theme then, as you have said, you can use it here by purchasing the Business plan.

    I have looked at the themes wordpress has for its members but the theme we found is what we have our hearts set on. I know we can upload it, my concern is the integration as it is meant for wordpress.org and not wordpress.com. Will this be an issue?

    Hi there,

    Generally, every theme that works on WordPress.org works on WordPress.com Business as well.

    The only way to preview it on WordPress.com is to purchase the Business plan. If you find that WordPress.com doesn’t suit your needs then you can request (within 30 days) a full refund.
