this image has an empty alt attribute

How do I avoid my images dropping out and getting the message “This image has an empty alt attribute” ? Very frustrating to replace images.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When an image breaks and displays ‘This image has an empty alt attribute’ in the editor, it means the editor block lost connection to the image file’s URL in your Media Library, leaving only the placeholder block behind. This typically happens if images are deleted from the Media Library after being added to a post, if hotlinked external image URLs expire, or if a browser extension (like an ad blocker) blocks the media upload script while saving drafts. To prevent this, ensure images are fully uploaded to your site’s Media Library before inserting them, add descriptive alt text directly in the Media Library settings, and avoid deleting original media files.

Thank you for this response. Unfortunately, I don’t believe I’m guilty of any of your listed “typically happens when” circumstances, as I do not delete from my Media Library and do not use hotlinked images, nor do I add descriptive alt texts (whatever those are). (Sorry, not very savvy.) AI Helper seemed to think that the fact that this was occurring in older saved drafts might be the problem–which would be too bad, since I tend to upload blogs months in advance. Thank you again!

  • Hello @redsea05

I reviewed your recent draft posts and thankfully don’t see any broken images in them.

That said, I emailed you requesting some example posts and screenshots, so we can review those specific posts for you and advise you further.

I am marking this post resolved, but let’s continue our conversation via email.
