‘this site cannot be accessed error’ help

My website cannot be reached and on wordpress is displaying the ‘this site cannot be accessed’ error (red warning sign). This did not occur after any recent change to the website, in fact occurring 2 days after any changes to the site. What could be the problem here? and what common solutions are there to this issue?
