This site can’t be reached.

  Greetings!

  I am a relatively new user, and am studying the UI along with other people. I, and a few others, have been encountering a problem where every time we click ‘Add New Post’, ‘Add New Page’, or accessing any webpage (x.wordpress.com), it says ‘This site can’t be reached’.

  I’ve tried with both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Of course, I’ve also wiped the cache. But there was still nothing. Restarting the pc does nothing, and restarting the internet modem sometimes works (but eventually stops working and the site can’t be reached again).

  Windows Network Diagnostics returns this error:
  ‘resource (x.wordpress.com) is online but isn’t responding to connection attempts.’

  ‘The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 443, possibly due to firewall or security policy settings, or because it might be temporarily unavailable. Windows couldn’t find any problems with the firewall on your computer.’

  Based on this, does this mean that my country(Philippines) is being blocked by wordpress.com? That wouldn’t make sense since only some of us are affected, and if my IP was actually blocked, I probably won’t be able to register or access my dashboard in the first place.

  Can anyone help me understand what’s going on? Thanks.

  Hi there!

  I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing. It sounds like there are some sort of connection issues on your end. It could be specific to your browser, computer, or even the internet service provider (ISP). Could you try the following steps to see what happens?

  • Try using a different browser.
  • Try connecting to a different internet connection (A different WiFi or mobile hotspot).
  • Try using a different device on a different internet connection.
  • Try using a VPN connection. Learn more here.
