"This webpage has a redirect loop" after purchasing and activating domain name

I used the standard “ontdekken.wordpress.com” and then purchased the “flybirdie.com.au” domain. Both those URLs now result in the redirect loop error after “activating” the new domain.

The “Domain Settings” tells me in red that I have to “update the DNS”. When I look at how to do that, I find some information about adding “naming servers” to the DNS (NS1.Wordpress.com). but when I try to add the naming servers under “edit DNS”, i get an error.

    Please advise, thanks.

    Hi there,

Your domain flybirdie.com.au is already using the WordPress.com name servers (ns1.wordpress.com, etc.), so you’re all set with that step. I can visit your site just fine at your domain here: http://flybirdie.com.au/

When you first set up a new domain, you may get a redirect loop error like the one you saw. That’s because your computer saves (caches) your site’s address in its system, and it takes a little while for it to update to the new address. It should fix itself after a bit, or you can try to force it to update by flushing your computer’s DNS cache. Either way, I want to assure you that everything is set up correctly.

Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)
