Thumbnail image suddenly won't appear when pasting link in Facebook.
-
When I paste my published link into Facebook, the image placed within the post is not appearing. This only started happening yesterday, as it always worked before. Is there a fix to make that thumbnail image appear in the Facebook link? (This is the link example of what didn’t work: http://themandateblog.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/the-recent-history-of-coach-trading/).
Thank you.

Hi Mike, from time-to-time unfortunately the thumbnails on Facebook can behave unexpectedly.
Your post is correctly defining the image Facebook should use, in this tag:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://i2.wp.com/themandateblog.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/rivers_doc2.jpg?fit=1000%2C1000" />That image looks fine when you put it in the browser: http://i2.wp.com/themandateblog.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/rivers_doc2.jpg
When I put the URL of your post into Facebook’s debugging tool, the results were perfect – no errors. Normally if the supplied thumbnail doesn’t meet Facebook’s requirement in some way, it gives an error message.
This points to there being a technical problem on Facebook’s end, I’m afraid. In my experience this tends to clear up, but do let me know if it persists.
The good news is that after running your post through Facebook’s debugger, the image is now showing up:

Feel free to use the debugger in the future to see if it helps refresh the thumbnail on other posts.
If I can help with anything else, just let me know.
