Time Sensitive: Updating Email
-
I have had to use my work email for my WordPress account for the past few years. My work email is going to be deleted at the end of this month, and I need to use a new email for my account. When trying to update to email to being one of my two personal emails, I got a notification saying that both emails already had accounts. I logged into both those accounts and deleted both accounts thinking that would solve the issue and allow me to update the email on this account. That is not the case; because I deleted both accounts, it does not allow me to use either personal email. Anything to help solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
When you delete an account, the email address associated with it gets released after 30 days. If you don’t want to wait for that long, you can reply to the account closure emails we’ve sent so that we can restore them. Once the account is restored, you can change its email address to a throwaway one. This will immediately free up the email address you want to use with your current account.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
