Tiny tiny images in the media library

  • Unknown's avatar

I am adding a new page. I go to insert media and upload an image….

but all images I upload (even ones up to 1800×600) display as tiny dots in the media library. When I then click to add one, the same happens on the page. Just a tiny , tiny picture appears.

I cleared my cache, cookies..upgraded to new chrome and tried it in IE – nothing helped.

    Any ideas?

    Hi there!

That is strange. I took a look at your Media > Library page and I am only seeing two images and they aren’t small. One is 378 px wide and the other is 960 px wide. Can you please show me an example of this? I’d be happy to take a further look!

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    Yes, it is pretty strange!

When you look in the media/library – it looks correct, as you say.

It’s when I try to add media on either a page or a post that I get the strange tiny images.

Here’s a screenshot of what comes up when I try to insert a pic by clicking add media…

Can you test it on your end, see if you get the same result?

    Thanks

    Hi.

Sorry , me again. I just checked it on my wife’s computer and it works fine on there. So I guess it’s some sort of compatability problem with my PC….the graphics card maybe? I don’t know.

As I say, I followed the steps in your help guide (clear cache, cookies, history) even upgraded to the latest chrome and checked in IE too. Same result.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, I’m unable to reproduce this error! When you click on the image to insert, what size options do you get as seen here:

Try going to full size and let me know how big it is. It seems like this error may be just affecting your computer as your wife’s and mine are fine. Can you try in Firefox and see if it’s the same?

    Thank you!

no worries. I think I just found a work around.

Created a new windows user account and it works in there. Not sure why it won’t work in my normal user account.

    Thanks for your help.

Oh I see! I’m glad it worked out! It may be a good idea to see if there was something wrong with your original account with the Windows support team.

    Happy Blogging!
