Title: PayPal Widget Routing Payments to Automattic/Stripe Instead of My PayPal

    I’m hoping someone from Automattic staff or the community can help me resolve this, since five days of support emails have produced no resolution and no case number despite being told this is an open case.

    What happened: Around April 24, 2026, my PayPal widget — which has worked correctly on my WordPress sites for over four years — began routing customer payments to Automattic/Stripe rather than to my PayPal address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). Nothing changed on my end. My accounts are paid in full.

    Amount affected: $200 across two transactions Sites affected: interpretivetraining.org, heartfeltassociates.com Correct payment destination: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    What I’ve already done:

    • Filed multiple support requests beginning April 24
    • My wife filed a separate support request and was told a Happiness Engineer would respond within 24 hours — that did not happen
    • Replaced the PayPal widget with direct PayPal buttons so no future payments are affected
    • Was told verbally this is an “open case” but have never received a case number

    What I need:

    1. A case or ticket number
    2. Release of $200 to (email visible only to moderators and staff)
    3. Confirmation no further payments are being intercepted

    I am a long-term WordPress customer across multiple sites including heartfeltassociates.com, interpretivetraining.org, and heartfeltkonacoffee.com. I am not looking for a fight. I simply need this resolved promptly as real customer money is involved.

    Has anyone else experienced payments being rerouted to Automattic recently? And is there a direct staff contact or escalation path anyone can recommend?
