To import content from my blog onto wordpress

  I have an existing blog on blogger.com and would like to bring the content from that blog onto wordpress. …i tried following the steps to import the content on to wordpress….the file is, in fact, downloaded and saved on the hard drive . Back on my blogger profile, i get the edit page…am confused…
