To Revome Email and WordPress.com subscribers

    Hello,

    This is regarding a WordPress.COM blog.
    Why does wordpress not have a feature via which I can remove Email/ wordpress subscribers of my blog ? I know some replies to this querry would say – because even if I remove someone else can subscribe again.

    Well then, why not give the blog owner the ability to ALLOW SUBSCRIPTIONS. Each time someone subscribes to my blog, I get to choose if I would like to allow him/her to follow my blog. This is a simplistic and straightforward solution.

    If its not possible to implement this soon, at least kindly give the blog owner the ability to delete, BAN(from subscribing) certain email ID’s/wordpress users whom the blog-owner doesnt not want as his followers. Even if they can potentially subscribe via some other ID, the point is – they will have to toil harder(than otherwise) to do so. A wary blogowner will also delete any unrecognized Email ID’s/Users from his her list, if he wants to
    At least, then, the blogowner has some tools at his disposal and can do something about it like removing all unrecognized and unwanted ID’s, users who have subscribed. I see no harm in letting the blog-owner unsubscribe people who have subscribed to his/her blog. Kindly do pay head to the same.

    In the present scenario, the owner of the blog is being left naked, without any weapon. That IS BAD.

    PS: I need to remove certain Email ID’s from my subscription asap due to personal reasons. I know for a fact that they wont subscribe again. Its just that I dont want to tell them to unsubscribe themselves. I should be able to do it. Its my blog and I should be able to have control. I should be able to close the doors to my house, and not have to ask the person whom I am trying to avoid to close them for me. Kindly do help me out here. Waiting in anticipation.

    1.Anyone can subscribe to a public blog using an RSS feed reader and you cannot stop them.

    2. WordPress.com clearly states – no IP blocking on users behalf here.

    3. IP blocking has not been effective for many years now. ISPs save money by placing hundreds of us in the same IP block so if you think one can get rid of just one person you would be wrong — you would be affecting many people.

    4. Anyone can get another IP and/or email address very easily and very quickly and simply subscribe again.

    5. As a mature adult — no commenter can cause an emotional reaction in you by reading your posts or by submitting comments. You make the choice of how to respond to all comments. You have complete control over which comments are approved an posted to your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/unwanted-comments/

    I forgot to post another sentence under 4.
    There are many people who have dynamic ie. ever changing IPs and that’s another reason IP blocking is not effective.
