Too complicated for me

I’m afraid that I have found WordPress too complicated. Probably because I haven’t the time to read through all the instructions, and really need something with a ‘plug and play’ capability. Somewhere I had a WordPress document ‘Rifleman H O Brown’s WWI Diary’ hosted on ANOther’s server. He sent me the files he was storing when he closed his server down, but I have no idea what to do with them, and decided I don’t need them any more. It is not clear to me how to close my account.
The site I need help with is apmornement63.wordpress.com.

Because WordPress.org (WordPress sites hosted on other servers) and WordPress.com are two independent entities, things do not work quite the same, and it can be pretty confusing:
