Totally Confused.

I am trying to work out what I need to build an ecommerce site. I have hosting provided by GoDaddy. They have WordPress.Org access/integration. To get that to work for advises that I need WordPress Business which also costs the same amount(additionally). So I check on the WordPress.Com website to find out the different between .Org and .Com and the ONLY information I could find was a small footnote at the bottom of the eCommerce price comparison. It included a link. The link talked about .com compared with Bluehost and Dreamhost and EVERYTHING has its own batch of plugins and costs the same (additionally). Totally confused. Just how many hosting, web-builders, plugins and other parasitic extras do you need?

Hi there, if your WordPress website is hosted at GoDaddy, you don’t need the WordPressdotcom Business or Ecommerce plan. Those plans are only relevant if you host your site here, which you said you don’t.
WordPressdotcom (where we are ) and WordPress are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You can get suggestions or recommendations on setting up an Ecommerce site either with GoDaddy support or with the folks that use your open source WordPress software at https://wordpress.org/support
If you decide you want to use the Woocommerce plugin, they are a part of the WordPressdotcom/Automattic family and it will be connected to your WordPressdotcom account, but they have their own support system. You can learn more about Woocommerce here: https://woocommerce.com/
