Tracking Links to Documents Hosted on WordPress Pages

  Hi!

  I uploaded a PDF to a page on my WordPress blog. I then distributed the direct link to the PDF. So people in possession of the link can go directly to the PDF and bypass the WordPress page that hosts it. But the link appears no where on my Site Stats page. How can I track how many people clicked the link and/or downloaded the PDF?

  I never send out a direct link – I make a Post or Page then I put the link to the PDF in the Post / Page – with some notes etc. – then when I update the PDF with new info the new PDF just replaces the old link on the Post / Page – not sure how to track the downloads –
