  Do the free sites get less traffic than the paid sites? What’re the criteria that make any blog post appear in the Reader panel?

  Hi there,

  Whether your site is free or paid has no effect on the amount of traffic you get. Traffic depends on the quality of your content, how high your site ranks with different search engines, and how much effort you put into promoting your site. We have some tips on how to increase your site traffic here:

  Increase Your Site’s Traffic

  For your site to appear in the Reader, you must first follow it. For anyone following your site, it will automatically appear in their Reader feed.

  You can also have your site appear in searches for specific tags by adding appropriate tags to your posts:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/

  And as long as your site is set to public, it will automatically appear in Reader search results for any search terms that our system thinks is relevant to your posts.
