  Hi I want to convince our board to move from Squarespace to WordPress. I want to show them how easy it will be to transfer and manage without impacting on our Squarespace account for the time being. How to do I do this without transferring anything?

  Hi there,

  You can actually transfer your entire site to us without it affecting the Squarespace site in any way.

  First, go to https://wordpress.com/start/site/ and create a free WordPress.com site.

  Next, follow these steps to import the content from your Squarespace site to that new WordPress.com site:

  Import from Squarespace

  That will move over your posts and pages to the WordPress.com site, and then you can further customize the site with one of our themes, sharing buttons, etc. That will let you show the board exactly how the site will look on WordPress.com with your existing content.

  Meanwhile the Squarespace site will continue existing exactly as it has before, as the import process essentially just creates a copy of the content on the site on our end – it doesn’t remove content from that site.
