Hello! my name is amanda, I would like to use bluehost as as my site host for wordpress. My domain name is lovinglyrenee.com. What steps would I need to take to do this? Would I need to transfer my domain name or would I simply need to map it and not move it? I would still like to use lovinglyrenee.com all around. Thank you in advance!

Can I clarify a few things? Are you looking to host a site on Bluehost using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org)? If so, you don’t need to do anything over here at WordPress.com. Just contact Bluehost’s support team and they can help you get set up.
Or, are you looking to set up a site here on WordPress.com using a domain you have registered at Bluehost?
If that is the case, you can either transfer your domain registration to WordPress.com or map the domain here. Hi!
Functionally, it really makes no difference. Both work equally well and will send users to your site when they enter your domain into their browser.
What it really comes down to is if you have opinions on the ease of keeping your site billing in one place (one bill from WordPress.com vs a bill from WordPress.com and a bill from your domain registrar). Or if you have a particular reason to want to use an external registrar (perhaps you have many domains and want to keep them all registered in the same place).
