    Good Morning,

    I wanted to inquire in regards to gaining access to this website to update the business information. The business owner approached me for help as the person responsible for creating this website has passed away and the owner does not have access to the site. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    The only sites I see on your @bikeplans WordPress.com account when I check on our end are listed here:

    – bikeplans.wordpress.com

    I see you are able to log in to your WordPress.com account, so you should be able to access the site you see here: https://wordpress.com/sites

    Is the issue with a different site that you do not see listed there? Is it possible this is a site under a different login that we are not able to see?  What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

    Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

    Hello,

    The site I had a question about is:

    Auto Glass Shop

    I did not create the site and I am not the owner of the company. However the owner approached me and asked if I could help revise his website and make it up to date as the original creator of the website has passed away to my understanding. Is there anyway the the owner of the company can verify his identity and allow access to the site to be transferred to a new account he can manage or would we have to start over? If we have to start over can they original website be deleted and we use the same name? Thank you in advance.

    Please relay to the owner our deepest condolences for their loss. We’ll be able to transfer ownership of the WordPress.com account to them if they can send us the following:

    * A copy of the deceased user’s death certificate

    * A power of attorney or legal document stating your authority to act on behalf of the deceased, or a signed, notarized statement including:

    – Your first and last name
    – Your current contact information
    – Your email address
    – Your relationship to the deceased user
    – The action you’re requesting (e.g., “Please transfer ownership of the account.”)

    Hello, I appreciate the information and help. And thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately the business owner is not going to be able to obtain that information from the family of the deceased so we are going to have to move in the direction of using a different web address.
