Transfer blog ownership, but lost my original log-in credentials
-
Good day WordPress Support Manager/Team,
I messaged the following to WordPress’ AI Support: “How can I recover my account for a blog? I think I used a Proton email for it, but unfortunately it has been deleted by Proton due to a year or more of inactivity. And I can’t reuse the deleted usernames according to Proton’s terms of use. Is there a way I can transfer the blog to a different email address of mine? Thank you.”
The response said I need to use the account recovery form. But since I can’t provide proof of ownership, it referred me to asking for help here in the forums. With these circumstances, how can I transfer the blog to a different email address? If not, how can I delete the blog? If not, how can I set it to private? If none can work, what’s the next best thing I can do? Thank you for your time. All the best.

Hi there,
If you need to recover access to the account, and you are familiar with the email/username used, you can try to reset the password: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your WordPress.com account and can’t log in, the next best step is to complete the Account Recovery Form: Account Recovery Form
Provide as much information as possible, such as transaction IDs, activation links, backup codes, or anything else that could help prove ownership. Check this guide for reference: Account Recovery Guide.
Please let me know if that method worked for you.

@faisalahammad Hello. Unfortunately those won’t work for me, further details about it are mentioned in the post. I was thinking maybe these could help me instead: How can I transfer the blog to a different email address? If not, how can I delete the blog? If not, how can I set it to private? If none can work, what’s the next best thing I can do? Thank you.
