Transfer domain from go daddy to WP

    Hi everyone, I just purchased the domain from godaddy.com and was considering to transfer it to WP to keep everything in one place.
    I’m not really conviced by the options offered by WP though, as it says it renews after one year for £15 but i already have 5ys secured with godaddy.
    Can anyone confirm that if i go ahead with the above, i will lose the 5ys domain ownership just bought? many thanks

    Hi there,

    Once a domain renewal is done, it’s done. Nothing you can do, including transferring, can un-renew it. So you won’t lose any of the time you’re already paid for with GoDaddy.

    In fact, once you transfer the domain to us, it will be renewed for yet another year as part of the process, so then the next renewal of your domain will only be due in six years.
