Transfer domain to WordPress from 1o1

  Hello,
  I need some clarifications regarding the domain migration.
  I would like to purchase the personal plan and then migrate my exisiting 1o1 domain to WordPress. Is this possible?
  How does it work?

  While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  When the domain registration expires at the current registrar (iPage), does it have to be renewed at iPage or can WordPress renew it?

  You would have to allow the domain to expire and then wait through the expiration process and hope that it made it through to be released into the pool of available domains.

  To be honest, it’s not really worth the risk of losing your domain just to be able to register it here at WordPress.com. I would encourage you to find a registrar you like, transfer your domain there, and map it to your WordPress.com site.
