transfer domain vs mapping domain

I was wondering which would be the better option for me for my blog spot. I would also like to add my Shopify store to the blog website as well.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

With mapping, the domain will remain registered with your current provider. The process creates a connection between the domain and WordPress.com but it will still need to be renewed through your current provider each year:

Transferring the domain to WordPress.com means it will be registered and renewed through us going forward. This is the better option if you wish to manage the site and domain through one account:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
I would also like to add my Shopify store to the blog website as well.
Shopify integration is no longer available on WordPress.com. Sites using the Business plan can purchase and embed Shopify’s Buy Button and use that for products.
