transfer from wordpress.com to wordpress.org and got internal server error

I am trying to transfer my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I export and when I try to import with file attachments I get an error message that says: Internal Server Error-the server encountered an internal server error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Apache Server at kristyophoto.com Port 80 (the time was 4:44 pm on 1/1/12 and I have no idea what I might have done, I was just following the transfer directions. Please help!
