transfer of my domain

    Hello, I would like to transfer my domain to wordpress, but I am hoping it doesn’t transfer until I finish building the new website

    Hi there,

    When you create a site with us, we give you a free WordPress.com address to use for as long as the site exists. You can upgrade the site at that address, and finish setting it up completely, and only transfer your custom domain once you’re ready to.

    Also note that when you transfer a domain to us, it will still be pointing to your current hosting – we don’t automatically switch the domain to our hosting once it transfers.

    In other words, even if you transfer it immediately, it will still show your current site, and it will only start showing your WordPress.com site once you tell us to switch it.
