transfer of site

is it possible to transfer the domain even after the site is live? I have a website which was done using godaddy website builder and the site is live. I want to use wordpress to continue editing the site. is that something which is possible?

To limit down time my suggestion would be to go ahead and build your new site on WordPress.com. Use the free site address that we give you. Once that site is finished and ready to go live, then, you will connect the domain to it.
There’s 2 options for connecting the domain to WordPress.com.
1. Mapping (domain stays registered at GoDaddy but it points to us):
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2. Transfer (we take over as domain registrar):
