Transfer or Map

  I’m building a website for someone who has a domain with GoDaddy and we aren’t sure if mapping or transferring the domain would be better? & if there are differences in fees and costs between the two, and if there is then what would they be?

  Mapping entails paying for a domain at one place and a site somewhere else. Transferring puts everything in one place. Note that you can only transfer a domain you have owned for more than 60 days, and there are a few domain extensions such as .co.uk that currently can’t be transferred to WordPress.com at all.
