transfer or mapping ?

  I cant decide whether to transfer my current domain name if I use mapping is there a cost to do this.

  Whether you transfer the domain to us or merely map it, you’ll need to upgrade to one of our paid plans, and you’ll have to pay to renew both the domain and the plan every year, so it really comes down to your preference: Would you prefer to keep the two separate and pay different providers for the respective renewals each year, or would you prefer to manage your domain and your site from the same place in your WordPress.com account?
